Lojas Americanas S.A. (“Company”), in view of the news published today, announces that, in line with its permanent policy to analyze investment options for the expansion of its activities, has kept preliminary conversations with Casa e Video Rio de Janeiro S.A.

There are no guarantees that any agreement could be consummated from these conversations.

Thus, given the preliminary nature of discussions, the Company will only pronounce itself about it again, if and when any agreement has been concluded or if and when the discussions have been closed.
